[Tori immediately looks away from him, not wanting to look him in the eye. It's cowardly of her, and she knows it, but...]

What's going on with me? I don't know what you're talking about. [It's a blatant lie, one she knows Mithos will look right through, but she needs to to at least try. She knows Mithos won't react well to the truth.]

[ His eyes narrow at that. Yeah, he saw through it. In fact, he had been 'pretending' those few games that he was 'satisfied' with her answers... thinking she might just cough it up eventually.

But now? He's not going to let it go. ]

... You do-- you can't even look me in the eye. That's proof enough.

Tell me. Now.

[She flinches, holding herself lightly. Of course he saw right through that. She isn't sure why she bothered trying.]

[ His lips curl into a frown, as he closes the distance between them, easily. ]

[She holds herself tighter. She still doesn't know how Mithos would react to the news, and that leaves her terrified.]

[ When she gets desperate, he is only convinced even more to press on. ]

Why shouldn't I? Obviously if you're like this, you really do need to tell me.

Hiding it will just make it harder for you, so just spit it out.

[She takes a step back.]

[This is pathetic. She shouldn't be so terrified to tell this to someone she loves so much, but here she is.]

[ He takes a step forward. ]

[Tori takes a couple more steps back. She shouldn't be terrified of this, but she didn't even want the people who already know to ever find out.]

[What good would it do for him to even know? It's not as if he can do a single thing about it, and she knows that will drive him mad.]

[ He doesn't get it. He just thinks Tori's overreacting as usual, but somewhere in his mind, he is getting a little worried. But he won't admit it. ]

Just say it. I'll find out anyway, so what's the point of delaying the inevitable?

[She knows he's right. She's never, ever been able to keep things from Mithos--either one--for very long. She doubts, even as much as she wants to keep this from him, that she'll actually be able to. She takes a deep breath before speaking.]

[ He looks kind of pissed already. He might have been full of it when he said he could 'handle it' but then again, it's Mithos. ]

And you thought this was important to keep from me... why? What has he been doing, and why is he within you in the first place?

[ Can he just kick this guy out, can that be a thing. He hopes. ]

...we've been connected from the moment I was born. [She refuses to answer why she thought it important to keep it from him to begin with, it seems.] I guess when he lost his body in my world and his powers transferred over to me, his soul came along for the ride~ haha...

[A long, tense pause as she gathers the bravery to tell him the next part.]

[ The look on his face when she mentioned this and he just -- ]

...I don't know if it's possible. [She holds herself tighter, as if trying to make herself appear smaller.] I'm sorry, Mithos. I'm sorry I didn't tell you.

Anything is possible. When I put my mind to it, even returning the dead alive isn't beyond my capability.

[ His expression is ... kind of dark now. He is thinking of possibilities, Tori. Possibilities. This soul thing could be fixed, he is sure of it. In that fun, crazy way of his. ]

... I just suppose you didn't trust me enough to tell sooner.

[She's about to answer that first part, but then he says that second bit and she's staring right at him with wide eyes.]

I--no! No, this has nothing to do with whether or not I trust you, Mithos! Of course I...!

... Then why did you hide it? It's the only thing I can think of.

[ He's being honest about this, he just simply thinks Tori didn't trust him. ]

...I wanted to protect you.

[The way she says that sounds so utterly defeated.]

[ He shifts his feet awkwardly. ]

...yeah. Sort of. I don't want you to be hurt.

[She just doesn't specify by what.]

Hmph. Like I'd allow myself to get hurt easily.

[ Crossing his arms. He's presuming she means the one possessing her. ]

Why did you think I would? Because you believe he's stronger than me?

That's not it! If he manages to win...

[No. She doesn't even want to finish that sentence. She knows it's a lot easier to emotionally hurt Mithos than he lets on, so she leaves it there.]
